Personally experiencing college life during the pandemic made me feel easily lethargic and lacking motivation about 60% of the time. Diving deeper into research, I found that the school climate plays an important role in students' academic achievements. To share my experience, I recorded down the ambient sounds of school (Lasalle) and formed a data visualisation and artefact.
Data
The data visualisation showcases the loudest and quietest parts of school within 3 different blocks. These data points are compared amongst each other, forming a radial bar graph that displays the lack of activity within school across different blocks and levels.
Artefact
The artefact is a playful tool that informs the user of the correlation between school activity and the student's energy levels. As more sound can be heard, the student rises from their dormant state to an explosive and energetic individual that shows promise!
